I need help interpreting this poem!?

I think it is somewhat straight forward. It is asking the question, when you forget or move on/wake up from a dream where does it go. Does you mind just move on and let it die or does it sit in your mind and begin to annoy, get to you, or drive you crazy. Does it some how help you or does it weigh you down. or does it just explode and disappear forever.
