What is dislocation creep?

I have an exam question soon on dislocation creep. I know that it involves the movement of dislocations through the crystal lattice, but what are the mechanisms that accommodate dislocation creep? What factors affect it, e.g. grain size, formation of new minerals such as feldspar becoming mica etc.
